DCU Vol.13: More Lanterns by alexmax DCU Vol.13: More Lanterns by alexmax
Woah! This has to be the fastest lineup I've ever done. The fact that the color palette was already available, thanks to Volume 9, helped a lot. So, again we got some Green Lanterns, only that this time the spotlight is for the non-human members of the Corps. If you are wondering where are Hal, John, Guy, Kyle or Alan Scott... they've been covered already.

Once more, they are inspired by the comics, animated shows and even the upcoming movie (which I'm still not entirely sold on :-/ latest trailer looks better, but still far from perfect). Left to right they are: Galius Zed, Ch'p, Salaak, Soranik Natu, Tomar-Re, G'nort and Larvox.

Hope you all approve! :)

Next up: The Avengers... wha-?!!

Hi...As I've told you before, your gallery is amazing! I love comics, and I love GL, you have done a fantastic work, love Ch'p, Galius Zed and Larvox! xD Who couldn't approve of this?

By the way, you say your images are vector-based, I was wondering, what program did you use to create them? I have been wanting to give vectors a try for a while now. Thanks and once again, magnificent work!

I always appreciate the nice feedback.

To answer your question, I do these in Adobe Illustrator. Well, first I do a rough-ish sketch on pencil/paper, scan that, and then trace it and adjust the odd looking stuff in the sketch. I gotta say it's VERY time consuming, it's much more faster to color in photoshop.

I get it, I guessed it would be something like Illustrator, yeah, I guess it must be really time consuming, I make mine on paper, then scan it and color in photoshop, and every piece takes me ages to complete...I would take like all year to make one in Illustrator xD Thanks for your reply, I guess I'll try it anyway. Take care ;D

didn't mean to discourage you from trying Illustrator. Absolutely give it a shot. Illustrator is better for other stuff: graphic design.

No prob :D I love your renditions of the characters, I also like the fact you know a lot about them and comics, you're just like me xD, I love how you drew Doomsday, one of my fav Supes' villains, and all the other villains with him, Parasite, Lex, Darkseid, Henshaw, etc. Amazing work!

I know "enough" about them, there's a lot of people out there with more in-depth knowledge about comics, superheroes, etc.

Thanks for the comment.

Sweetness!

Hey, there are seven of these on every one right? Why not do the other lantern corps for one? You could also probably switch out the green for the black as we've already had plenty of greens by now....

Thank you !

That's correct: seven per volume. Now, about doing other color corps... I've been asked to do some of those (yellow, red and now black). I don't know, I'm not fond of the whole idea. I might try making 1 lineup with 1 lantern from each Corps. Not even sure if there are seven: Blue, Indigo, Yellow, Red, Black, Pink, Orange. Yep, that's seven.

Once more, thanks for the comment.
